April Tea Classes

April Tea Classes

Join us as we explore the depth and beauty of Chinese and Japanese tea culture through hands-on learning, sensory engagement, and storytelling in our monthly tea classes

In April, we will dive into Fujian White Tea from China and a Matcha Comparison from Japan:

Chinese Tea Class: Fujian White Tea
Thursday, April 24 - 10 AM to 12 PM

Soft yet complex, Fujian’s white teas embody patience, purity, and the quiet passage of time. In this session, we’ll follow their evolution, tasting fresh white tea’s crisp vibrancy alongside the deep, honeyed warmth of aged leaves.

Through guided tastings and hands-on brewing, we’ll explore the subtle shifts in flavour, texture, and aroma that make white tea so captivating.

Japanese Tea Class: Matcha Comparison
Saturday, April 26 - 10 AM to 12 PM

Vivid, umami-rich, and deeply rooted in tradition, Matcha is more than just powdered tea—it’s a craft. In this session, we’ll explore its journey from leaf to powder, tasting each part of the tea plant—leaf, stem, and powder—to understand its transformation.

Through a guided tasting, we’ll compare three single-cultivar Matcha from the same region to explore their nuances. This class focuses on drinking Matcha as usucha (thin tea), allowing us to fully experience its true flavours—no lattes, no add-ins, just Matcha in its purest form.
