Teakan Exploration Kit - Vol. 5

Do you prefer something warm and cozy in the winter? Join us for drinks as we've curated five single-origin teas for you to sip on chilly days. In this Exploration Kit, you'll find three different black teas and two oolong teas from Eastern China. Will we discover unique characteristics or similarities through our senses? Let's find out together!

What's in the kit:

The Vol. 5 Exploration Kit includes 5 single-origin teas (65g in total) from different regions:

• Keemun, black tea from Huangshan, Anhui, China (15g)
• Red Plum Black, black tea from Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China (15g)
• Zhengshan Xiaozhong (unsmoked), black tea from Wuyishan, Fujian, China (10g)
• Charcoal Roasted Tie Guan Yin, oolong tea from Anxi, Fujian, China (15g)
• Rou Gui, oolong tea from Wuyishan, Fujian, China (10g)

Tea Tasting Event & Stories:

Each kit includes a link to register for our private virtual tea tasting session which will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 10:30 am PST. Join Claudia, the tea sommelier and Jan, the tea curious as we brew, explore and appreciate the three different black teas from the kit together. Update: We've just added another virtual tasting session for January 2022. Register using the QR code found inside the box to be notified once the date has been confirmed.

Every tea comes with its provenance, histories/stories, brewing guide and simple flavour profile, so you can “explore” them through different lenses and senses. Depending on the brewing methods, there will be 3-5 servings with multiple brews for each tea, perfect for tea experiment and pairing, or simply throwing a tea tasting party. We've included a simple tasting wheel to get you started on your tea exploration journey.
